UP tops the list of crimes against women with 60,000 crimes, Maharashtra 2nd in the list: NCRB

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data for 2018, Uttar Pradesh recorded the most number of crimes against women, with 59,445 cases. Maharashtra stood second in crimes against women across the country, with 35, 497 cases. 60.9 cases of crimes against women were reported in Maharashtra per 1 lakh people, out of which, 2,142 were rape cases. 35 cases of kidnapping and abduction of women were reported.
