The Philippines imposes partial ban on sending domestic workers to Kuwait

The Philippines on Thursday said it will stop sending domestic workers to Kuwait, after the death of one of its citizens in the Gulf state allegedly at the hands of her employer’s wife. The ban following Jeanelyn Villavende''s death exempts skilled workers or Filipinos who are already in Kuwait for work, Labour Secretary Silvestre Bello said. But Bello warned that the government may impose a total work ban if justice was not served.
