Rapes and murders taking place in Bengal, no state protection for people: NCSC chief

Amid the reports of post-poll violence in West Bengal that has led to a huge number of people fleeing the state and taking shelter in neighbouring Assam, National Commission for Scheduled Castes chief Vijay Sampla has claimed that rapes and murders are taking place in the state and the Scheduled Caste community are the worst affected by these incidents. Sampla said that over 1,627 murder and rape cases have been reported so far.
