Pakistan court overturns death sentence of prime accused in US scribe Daniel Pearl murder case

A Pakistani court overturned the murder conviction of a British national for killing Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002, and reduced his death sentence to seven years for kidnapping. Mr. Pearl was murdered in the southern city of Karachi in January 2002 while working on a story on religious extremists in Pakistan. Omar Saeed Sheikh, was tried later in 2002 for murder, and sentenced to death
