Meng Hongwei, the former interpole chief arrested for corruption and bribery

Meng Hongwei, the former interpole chief has been sentenced to more than 13 years of imprisonment and a fine of 223,000 pounds for bribery. Last June, he pleaded guilty for accepting $2.1 million in bribes and he had “truthfully confessed to all his criminal acts”. He disappeared in 2018 during a visit to China from France and was later accused of corruption and bribery. He was also expelled from the Communist party.
