Hundreds of New Zealanders called authority to surrender guns after newly imposed ban

After the mosque massacre, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced a ban on military-style weapons. Hundreds of people made calls to the authority after the ban came into effect to handover their guns. However, along with the real handovers the police has received several 'fake' applications too. The new ban is effective on new purchases as well as old and 'illegal' purchase of firearms.
