Homophobic crimes rise by more than a third in France

France has seen a 36% surge in homophobic attacks and insults recently, according to figures released by the interior ministry. The figures show a steady but alarming increase in these crimes and the news on the eve of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and 30 years after the withdrawal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by WHO will put French government in hot waters.
