Four men demand 'bitcoin' ransom worth Rs 10 crore after kidnapping 8-year-old in Mangaluru

An 8-year-old boy was allegedly abducted by four men in Ujire, Belthangady on Thursday. The kidnappers demanded ransom worth Rs 10 crore in bitcoin for releasing the child. As per the police, it could be the first case where the ransom was demanded in crypto-currency. The kidnapped child is the grandson of an industrialist. The kidnappers first called the boy's mom and demanded 100 bitcoins but later reduced the count to 60.
