3677 minors sexually attacked by clergymen in Germany over 7 decades

A study commissioned by German Bishops Conference to examine 38,000 documents from 27 German dioceses has revealed that 1670 clerics in Germany have been found guilty of sexual abuse of 3677 minors, mostly boys, between 1946 and 2014. Over 50% of sufferers were 13 years old or younger. Only 38% of 1670 accused clergymen were tried in civil courts while the Church held a disciplinary hearing for only 1 in 3 cases.
