25 killed in shootout between drug traffickers and police in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro

Brazil's Rio de Janeiro witnessed its deadliest drug gun battle in the recent past as a violent shootout broke out between police and drug traffickers. At least 25 people including some police personnel lost their lives in the incident. The gunbattle broke out in the poor Jacarezinho neighborhood. The region was surrounded by the police using armored vehicles and helicopters. Residents rushed to their homes to take shelter.
