French cosmetics giants L'Oreal has decided to join HUL and drop terms like white, fair, light from all its skin products. It will also be removing words white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightning from all of its skin evening products also. This move has come amid the backlash faced by brands globally for racial overtones of products. The Rs 3500 crore fairness cream market has been criticised since long.
