Telecom companies get 10 years from Supreme Court for payment of dues, 10% to be paid by March 31, 2021

The Supreme Court of India today gave telecom companies a time limit of 10 years to pay their adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues in a staggered manner. The top court's judgement was pronounced by a bench led by Justice Arun Mishra. The telcos will have to pay 10 percent of the dues by March 31, 2021. They will have to clear their dues by February 7 each year and non-payment of dues will invite contempt of court.
