Tata's proposal to acquire 64.3 percent stake in BigBasket approved by CCI

The Competition Commission of India has given its nod to the proposal from Tata for the acquisition of up to 64.3 percent stake in BigBasket. As per the deal, Tata Digital Ltd will purchase up to 64.3 percent of the total share capital of Supermarket Grocery Supplies Pvt Ltd. Tata Digital Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt Ltd. Tata will emerge as a major player in the fast-growing online grocery market.
