Sensex crosses 42,000 mark for the first time, Nifty rose by 0.25%

After the partial trade deal between US and China, Sensex crossed the 42,000 mark for the first time, reaching a record high of 42,009, up over 100 points. The Nifty rose 0.25% to a new high of 12,377.80. IndusInd Bank today extended losses after seeing a nearly 10% slump over the past two trading sessions. Its shares were down 0.8% in early trade. Several Sensex stocks were up between 0.5% and 1.2%.
