Retailer Bodies Call For TRAI-Like Regulator For Ecommerce

Concerned about foreign e-commerce majors such as Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart dominating India’s e-commerce sector, domestic retailer associations such as the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the Retailers Association of India (RAI) have sought a regulatory body for e-commerce similar to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) or the Securities and Exchange Board Of India (SEBI).
