Reserve Bank keeps repo rate unchanged at 4 percent

Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das announced that the central bank has kept the repo rate unchanged at 4 percent. The announcement was made at the end of the three-day Monetary Policy Committee. Similarly, the reverse repo rate has been kept unchanged at 3.35%. Banks are unlikely to increase interest rates on loans in the near future. The move will benefit new borrowers planning to take a home loan.
