NITI Aayog vice-chairman expects economy to reach pre-COVID levels by end of financial year 2022

Rajiv Kumar, the vice-chairman of NITI Aayog has said the country's economic growth is expected to reach pre-COVID-19 levels by the end of the 2021-22 fiscal. He further said the GDP contraction in this financial year is expected to be less than 8%. The country's economy saw a faster recovery than expected in September. Kumar also called for further expansion in reforms in the banking sector for increased competition.
