Kerala Governor okays ordinance which allows goverment to temporarily cut salaries

The Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammad Khan, on Thursday signed an ordinance brought by the state government to overcome a high court verdict and cut the salary of government employees to fund the ongoing fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The move was opposed by the opposition parties in the state, BJP and Congress. The Opposition said that Kerala government was taking revenge on employees after failing in the court.
