Indian mobile operators have lost Rs 2.4 crore revenue every hour as they had to suspend internet services on government orders to control protests against new citizenship law. The government had deployed thousands of police as well intermittently ordered mobile shutdowns at a time people have used social media such as Instagram & TikTok to wage a parallel battle online. Indians consume an average of 9.8 GB of data per month.
