India's billionaires got 35% richer despite massive job losses amid Covid lockdown

According to a report by non-profit group Oxfam, the billionaires in India continued to increase their fortunes despite the nationwide Covid19 lockdown that left lakhs of people jobless. As per the report, the fortune of the country's billionaires rose by an estimated 35 percent during the lockdown. At the same time, 84% of Indian households suffered income losses while 1.7 lakh people lost their jobs every hour in April 2020.
