Govt releases list of goods and services whose GST rates have been updated

GST council chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday announced that it has approved several proposals put forward by the Fitment Committee. The GST Council has increased the rate on carbonated fruit drinks to 28% plus compensation of 12%. This brings carbonated fruit drinks on par with cola beverages. GST Council has refused to accept the proposal to include petrol and diesel under the GST regime.
