Flipkart, Amazon collect Rs 31,000 crore in festive sales

According to a report by Red-Seer, India's premier e-retail firms Flipkart and Amazon clocked combined sales of Rs 31,000 crore ($4.3 billion) during the crucial 15-day festival period in October. However, the number fell short of analyst expectations of $5 billion in sales. The average value for Flipkart was Rs. 1976 while for Amazon it was Rs. 1461. Flipkart contributed 64% to the combined gross sales.
