El Salvador wants digital wallets and ATMs to include Bitcoin in payment options

When El Salvador's new Bitcoin law takes effect on September 7, it wants to establish its own digital wallet and offer $30 worth of Bitcoins to every person who joins up. It has also enlisted the help of Athena, a US-based company, to install 1,500 bitcoin ATMs around the country. El Salvador's President, Nayid Bukele, says a "dirty campaign" is disseminating disinformation about the country's new direction.
