Daraz layoffs: Alibaba-owned eCommerce firm fires 11% of workforce

Daraz Group, a venture funded by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., is cutting 11% of the workforce amid a slump in online shopping. The Pakistan-based company is one of the leading eCommerce firms in the South Asian region. Ehsan Saya, managing director of Daraz Pakistan, told Reuters that Pakistan is its biggest market and said that Pakistan has the most number of employees employed across Daraz markets.
