Coronavirus Effect: Indian rupee hits record low; plunges below 75 mark against US dollar

The India rupee on Thursday hit a record low owing to the economic trouble posed by the Novel Coronavirus across the world. Indian rupee breached the 75 mark against US dollar. The domestic unit depreciated nearly 80 paise to record low of 75.02 per dollar against the previous close of 74.23. Several sectors including travel, tourism and aviation have been severely hit due to the pandemic as India reported 169 cases till now.
