Cash-strapped Air India asks nearly 700 staffers to vacate flats in Delhi

Like Jet Airways, national carrier Air India is losing Rs 6 crore on its international operations to US & Europe due to Pakistan airspace closure. It is facing a debt of Rs 9000 crore currently & so it has asked 676 airline staff to vacate apartments in Vasant Vihar colony in Delhi. They were advised to look for alternate accommodation, find a rental flat. The Air India Housing colony has 810 flats of which 676 are occupied.
