Cash transfers need to be well-targeted, must reach right set of people: Nandan Nilekani

Infosys co-founder and UIDAI architect Nandan Nilekani said, since India cannot afford to run a huge deficit like the US, cash transfers by the government need to be well-targeted and should reach the right set of people. Nilekani who suggested One Nation One Ration Card in 2011 said tech-led initiatives take time to fructify but it needs to be implemented. Economic activities are resumed in a calibrated manner from June 1.
