ByteDance's $1 billion India expansion plan derailed as India bans TikTok

As per the reports, China-based Byte Dance had plans to expand its TikTok base in India by pumping in $1 billion. However, the Indian government's bold move to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, has derailed the plan of the Chinese firm. TikTok was removed from Google and Apple app stores in India after the government decided to ban the popular app. An advisor of Chinese apps said the companies may cut operations in India.
