Budget2020: Defence budget increased by 6% to Rs 3.37 lakh crore, Rs 1,10,734 crore for buying new weapons

In a major boost for the defence sector and to pacify the preparedness of the armed forces against the adversities, the defence budget was increased by six per cent to Rs 3.37 lakh crore against last year's Rs 3.19 lakh crore. For the purpose of modernisation and purchasing new weapon systems, defence forces have been provided Rs 1,10,734 crore, which is Rs 10, 340 crore more than what was allocated in last year’s budget.
