Rs. 5.54 lakh crores allocated for Capital Expenditure, FM announces Rs. 1.10 lakh crore for railways

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an allocation of Rs. 5.54 lakh crores for capital expenditure while adding that a sharp rise in the expenditure was expected. She further said the finance ministry will allocate Rs. 1.10 lakh crore for the railways while adding that Rs. 1.7 lakh crore of the above amount will be used for capital expenditure. The Finance Minister said a new national rail scheme will be made.
