AstraZeneca raises over $1 billion by selling its stake in Moderna

Britain-based AstraZeneca sold its 7.7% stake in Moderna Incorporation to raise more than $1 billion at a time when the shares of US-based Moderna surged riding on the huge success of its Covid vaccine candidate. Moderna expects to sell vaccine doses worth $18.4 billion in 2021 in the US alone. The timeline regarding the sale of AstraZeneca's stake in the firm is not known. Both the firms haven't responded to any queries.
