Alibaba Singles Day reaches a high $38 billion in GMV smashing the previous records

China-based firm Alibaba's annual Singles Day global shopping festival saw fantastic numbers in sale figures, exceeded all its records from previous years. It clocked $38 billion in GMV this year than the previous $30 billion made in 2018. The sales timed a growth of 24.57% which is better than 21%, which was clocked last year. Global Shopping fest hit 544,000 orders/sec which is 1360 times that of the 1st edition of fest in 2009.
