AIIMS loses over Rs 12 crore, falls prey to banking fraud; SBI alerts all its branches

India's prestigious institute AIIMS fell prey to a baking fraud which incurred over Rs 12 crore losses from two SBI bank accounts by allegedly using cloned cheques. Despite the fraud coming to light, attempts were still made to illegally withdraw over Rs 29 crore allegedly using cloned cheques from SBI's non-home branches located in Dehradun and Mumbai in the past 1 week. However, those attempts were thwarted.
