2 crore people lost their jobs since April, 50 lakh in July: CMIE

According to the data by private think tank Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), as many as 50 lakh salaried people lost their jobs in the month of July this year. The data reveals that nearly 1.89 crore people have lost their jobs since April. A whopping 1.77 crore salaried jobs were lost in April, the first full month that witnessed complete lockdown in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
