Nissan closes its Chennai factory amid virus outbreak

Japanese automaker Nissan has closed its factories in India along with Africa and Middle East in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. The office staff has been told to work from home. The moves came as per the advice and guidance of governments in order to safeguard staff, customers and the public, the company has announced. The production of Alliance plant in Chennai had stopped on Monday until further notice.
