Mumbai International Airport has become the first airport in the country to introduce Emergency Evacuation Vehicle (EEV). The Rosenbauer EEV has extendable staircase that can withstand up to 40 knots of windspeeds and reach 8.3 metres in height equal to that of airbus A380. The staircase takes 55 seconds to extend and the EEV can hold 115 people at one time. The response time anywhere in the airport is 2 minutes.
