Singhs and Paes are the only father-son Olympic medalists. Dhyan Chand Singh's achievements on the ice earned India three straight Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932, and 1936. At the 1972 Munich Olympics, his son Ashok Kumar earned a bronze medal. Paes' family has won two Olympic medals for the country. Leander Paes earned a bronze medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, while his father, Vice Paes, won a bronze medal in the 1972 Munich Olympics.
