India will be the world’s most densely populated country in 2100

1. Scientists using data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017 have predicted that India’s population may peak to about 1.6 billion in 2048.

2. But by 2100, India’s population will decline by 32% to 1.09 billion.

3. As a result, the number of working-age adults (24-64) is projected to fall from around 762 million (2017) to around 578 million (2100)

4. India will surpass China’s working population by mid-2020s and have the largest working population in the world by 2100.

5. The earth’s population will peak around 9.7 billion people in 2064. and fall to 8.8 billion by 2100.
