1. The crisis is believed to have started on July 10 when Sachin Pilot and others received a notice by the state police’s anti-terror squad asking them to appear for questioning about plotting, to bring down the Ashok Gehlot government.

2. The special operations group of the squad on July 11 said that it arrested BJP members Bharat Malani and Ashok Singh for allegedly trying to topple the government by offering Rs 20-25 crores bribe each to unspecified legislators.

3. Ashok Gehlot on July 11 accused the BJP of trying to “buy legislators like goats” and later said at a virtual press conference that the BJP’s “brazen attempt” was thwarted by the Congress.

4. In order to discuss the issue, Pilot then traveled to Delhi and met Sonia Gandhi’s close aide Ahmed Patel where he told Patel that the difference between him and the CM had gone too far as there are at least 19 congress legislators along with him lodged in various resorts.

5. On July 12, the Congress party rushed two central observers, Randeep Singh Surjewala and Ajay Maken to Jaipur to sort out the differences between Pilot and Ashok Gehlot, who have been in number of fights since the formation of the party’s government in 2018.

6. After a legislature meeting at Ashok Gehlot’s residence in Jaipur, the Congress, in a 2:30 AM Press Conference, claimed that 109 MLAs have signed their support to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

7. Hours later, Pilot claimed that the Gehlot government is in the minority as only 30 MLAs are supporting him. Pilot is now believed to be camping in Delhi and his loyalists have alleged that Ashok Gehlot wants to oust the deputy chief minister as the Pradesh Congress Committee president.

8. Congress Called for a legislature meet on July 13, making it compulsory for all of its MLAs to be a part of the meeting. Despite that, Sachin Pilot not just skipped that but also the second party meeting scheduled for July 14 morning and has now been sacked as the deputy CM of Rajasthan and removed as state party chief.

9. Amidst the clashes and confusion over the numbers, BJP’s Amit Malviya on Tuesday demanded a floor test, Rajasthan chief on the other hand clarified that we don’t need a floor test.
